As many of you know we have paused meetings for our robotics teams after our March 11th Meeting. This was in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
As well FIRST HQ suspended all FIRST Related events scheduled for the 2020 season. You can read their post and updates right here: https://www.firstinspires.org/covid-19
While this has impacted our students not being able to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship, and the FIRST Robotics Comp team was not able to compete at all this season we must remember that FIRST is #MoreThanRobots. I think Dean Kamen (Founder of FIRST) talks about it best in the video below.

What is E3 Robotics Center doing?
Center is Closed
As of now, we have canceled all meetings at least until May 1st. Once we get closer to this date we will be able to determine when we will be able to resume meetings.
Cleaning
We have been thoroughly cleaning the center to ensure there is no trace of the virus and will continue to do so to ensure the safety for our students, parents, coaches, and mentors when they return to the center.
FIRST Robotics Team - 1555 Cryonics
While the normally scheduled season is suspended at this time. FIRST Indiana hopes to have something once we are past all of this. We are looking at some scheduled Off-Season Events for the team to attend. This will allow them to compete and meet other teams as well.
FIRST Tech Challenge - 8711 The Gas Attendants
While the rest of the season was suspended at this time, the team is still signed up and scheduled for the Maryland Tech Invitational (MTI) June 19th-21st. The event has stated that the dates could change due to Covid-19 and the would let teams know of any changes asap. We still plan on meeting before this event and competing at MTI.
What can Teams do now?Students about to Graduate!
We at E3RC are working on something for our Graduates for this year. For those graduating please fill out this form so we know a bit more https://forms.gle/PpJVV6Xz9KU3fQ5aA
The Learning Channel - On Slack
We have started a Learning Channel where we will be posting various topics for students to learn about and work on skills from home. The 1st Lesson is already up in the channel talking about using the Free GoPro App to make quick awesome videos to share out.
E3RC Discord - Coming Soon!
Several have been asking about Discord. And now it is happening, Andrew is helping to set up the server that will allow our FTC and FRC students access to channels to collaborate, work, and share.
We will let you all know when it is up and running.
STEAM at Home!
We are creating STEAM at Home Video Series, this will have fun at home STEAM (Science, Technology Engineering, Art, and Math) activities to do at home. Starting next week you can expect to see the series start with some great things to do for all ages.
Team Websites and Social Media
Teams now is a great time to take a look at the team websites and social media platforms. And give a bit of love to them. They have been sorely neglected so far this season. Even having a Discord Chat, about what to do with the websites and media platforms might help as well.
#MoreThanRobots
Like Dean said, this is, and has always been more than just a robotics competition. I challenge you all, to think of something that you would like to do within robotics and get it started. This would be great for solo or group projects. Find something that inspires you and lets see what we can help you create here at E3RC.
